How do we know whether to repair or redevelop?
A structural audit establishes the extent of section loss and the realistic remaining life. Where repair cost approaches redevelopment economics, an honest assessment should say so. We would rather lose the job than take payment for repairing a building that needs replacing.
Why does the plaster keep falling even after repairs?
Almost always because the water path was never closed. Plaster is a symptom. If the terrace, parapet or external wall still admits water, new plaster fails exactly like the old plaster did.
Can repairs be done while residents stay in the building?
Yes. Extensive repair work is routinely carried out on occupied buildings, phased wing by wing with proper protection and access management.
What is the biggest mistake in old-building repair?
