The immediate goal is to stop the ingress and make the area safe; permanent system repair follows once the structure is dry and diagnosable.

- 02Isolate electrical circuits in the affected area if water is anywhere near fittings or a distribution board.

- 04Do not chip, drill or open up the ceiling — that can bring down saturated plaster and destroys the evidence needed to trace the path.
- 05Do not apply sealant or paint over a wet patch; it traps water and hides the route.

How urgent is it, honestly?
Not every leak is an emergency, and treating a stable damp patch as one wastes your money. Here is how we grade it.

Contain and collect the water, photograph the source while it is active — a leak is far easier to diagnose while running than after it dries.

Water is near an electrical panel. What should I do first?
Isolate power to the affected zone before anything else, and keep people away from it. Water reaching electrical distribution, a lift machine room or medical equipment is a safety situation first and a building problem second.
Will a temporary fix hold until the monsoon ends?
Injection grouting and localised leak arrest are genuine repairs to the specific path, not tape over a symptom, and they often hold indefinitely. But they do not address the underlying cause — a terrace with no fall, a failed podium build-up, an unresolved water table. Those need the permanent system once conditions allow.
