Surface Preparation: Cleaning of all irregularities removes of loose mortar, and making it dust free core cutting of plumbing out-let and conceal lining to be completed prior to base coat application.
Ponding the sunken area with construction water for 24 hrs if any leakages detected in the RCC surface below same shall be pressure grouted with cement slurry by installing PVC nozzels to seal the honeycomb and matrix in the concrete.
Washing the area with plain water, and spreading of cement slurry before applying base coat.
Base coat in C:M 1:4, mix with waterproofing admixture, with each 50Kg cement bag, thickness 25mm, finish in cement punning scratch finish to receive decorative layers, in line & level including curing & testing.
The Second part consisting of supplying & laying for brick bat coba waterproofing system to specified areas viz. toilets, etc.
The slab shall be laid over with flowable mortar in c:m 1:4 mix with waterproofing admixture and well burnt brick bat shall be fixed in the mortar and joints shall be filled with mortar in CM 1:4 in true line & levels in slope for easy flow of water.
Third Part consist of the gaps between the brick-bats shall be grouted with CM 1:4 flowable mortars and the top surface of brickbat coba shall be laid over with leveled plaster topping finished rough to receive further finishes.
The mortar for Brick bat coba system shall be admixed with integral waterproofing compound.
Finally the base coat shall be carried out upto 1 Mtr from the slab level in CM 1:4 flowable mortars, (Vertical area) shall be finish smooth jointless in neat cement punning in line & level including curing & testing.
Third Part consist of the gaps between the brick-bats shall be grouted with CM 1:4 flowable mortars and the top surface of brickbat coba shall be laid over with leveled plaster topping finished rough to receive further finishes.
The mortar for Brick bat coba system shall be admixed with integral waterproofing compound.
Finally the base coat shall be carried out upto 1 Mtr from the slab level in CM 1:4 flowable mortars, (Vertical area) shall be finish smooth jointless in neat cement punning in line & level including curing & testing.
First part consist of surface preparation, bare slab cleaning & making it dust free of all irregularities opening the construction joints & cracks filling it with micro concrete there after washing the surface with construction water.
Providing & Laying of Brick bat on RCC surface of 110mm thick mix with waterproofing admixture finish smooth in neat cement punning with false square marking of 300mm in line & level including curing & testing. Treatment is terminated at 300mm Vertical on the junction of slab & wall including providing of drip mould.
Providing & laying china mosaic assorted shade in random pattern over & above waterproofing layer in c:m 1:4 thickness 25mm Chip size upto 40mm including testing & cleaning by acid wash & saw dust etc. complete as per the specification and as per the instructions of project in charge.
METHODOLOGY FOR BASEMENT WATERPROOFING BY BOX METHOD TREATMENT
STAGE: 001
I. After lean concrete has been laid to receive the RCC raft, a 230mm thick brick toe wall in cement Mortar 1:6 shall be constructed on the perimeter of the area to be water proofed. The height of this wall shall be equal to the thickness of the RCC raft.
STAGE: 002 – BASE
II. The external tanking shall be carried out for the base raft over the lean Concrete in the following sequence listed below.
• The surface shall be cleaned & washed for all irregularity & loose particle.
• A layer of cement slurry mixed with waterproofing compound shall be spread over the lean concrete.
• In each layer where waterproofing compound is to be used it shall be mixed in the ratio of 150ml per 50kg of cement unless specified otherwise.
• Thereafter a 25mm thick (minimum) bedding layer of cement mortar 1:4 (one part cement four parts course sand) mixed with waterproofing compound shall be laid.
• Curing shall be done by spraying water for 24 hours.
• A layer of Shahabad stone slabs of approximately 600×600 mm & having minimum thickness of 20mm shall be laid. The joints between the stones shall be 20mm to 25mm. After laying the joints shall be raked & sealed with cement mixed with waterproofing compound ( in the ratio 1:1)
• A layer of cement mortar 1:4 (one part cement four coarse sand) mixed with waterproofing compound shall be laid & finished smooth.
• Curing shall be done by spraying water for 7 days.
• The waterproofing shall be turned up along the brick wall on the perimeter of the basement raft. The work shall be carried out as described under walls.
STAGE: 003 – GROUTING OF CONCRETE
Placing & post fixing of 25mm MS nozzles of length 0.5D where D is the depth of the raft shall be done on the construction joints & pour strips. The spacing of the nozzles shall be 2.00 meter apart in both directions in the raft to enable grouting to be done. The pipes shall project 50mm above the top of the raft & shall be plugged using MS caps.
The RCC shall be cast after placement of the nozzles as required.
After the concrete of the raft has attained proper maturity the injection of cement mixed with non shrink polymeric grouting compound through the nozzles under maximum pressure of 140PSI by hand/air/pump shall be carried out.
The nozzles shall be sealed after injection operation is over with a cementations rendering with quick setting admixture.
STAGE: 004 – RETAINING WALL
On removal of the form work if the external surface is found to be honeycombed irregular surface shall be rendered with cement sand mortar (1:3) after removing oil & greasy substances if any and also hacking on external RCC surface to be done immediately after de-shuttering by the main contractor.
STAGE: 005 – EXTERNAL TANKING OF WALLS
After the completion of the RCC raft & retaining walls up to the ground floor level external tanking of the external surface of the retaining walls shall be carried out in the following sequence. The external tanking layer for the walls shall have an overlap over the external tanking layer provided along the brick toe wall in stage 2 & sealed joints.
• A layer of Shahabad stone of approximate size 600 x 600mm and having a minimum thickness of 20mm shall be laid with a gap of 15mm between the wall and the stone. This gap shall be filed with cement slurry mixed with waterproofing compound.
• Joints of the stone tiles shall be inspected and any improperly filled joints shall be raked & sealed with cement mixed with the waterproofing compound.
• Curing shall be done by spraying water for 24 hrs.
• Thereafter a 15mm thick layer of cement mortar 1:4 (1 part cement 4 part course sand) mixed with waterproofing compound shall be splashed on the exterior surface of the stone wall to cover the stone & joints thoroughly & uniformly.
Cement slurry shall use minimum water for consistency to permit workability & flow.
Surface Preparation: Cleaning of all irregularities & making it dust free including injection grouting at corner of floor & wall and at construction joints there after Providing & laying 25mm thick waterproof plaster in C:M 1:4 and 40mm thick on base slab in 3 coat, 1st chat coat, 2nd backing coat & 3rd smooth finish in neat cement punning in line & level including curing & testing.
Note: All plumbing sleves to be installed before carrying out waterproofing plaster.
Providing & laying metal coba of 40mm thick in C:M 1:4, mix with waterproofing admixture in 2 layer 1st layer of 25mm thick embedded with aggregate, 2nd layer smooth finish in neat cement punning in line & level including curing & testing.
Providing & Fixing Nozzels of 25mm of RCC slab and grouting the same with 40 PSI machine injecting cement slurry mix with 150ml non shrink grout on construction joint & honey comb area 1 Mtr C/C in both direction.
Chemical Based
TEXSELF 1.5 is a self-adhesive, elastomeric SBS bitumen-based waterproofing membrane, with a high mechanical performance polyethylene film finish on the upper side and easily removable silicone film on the underside.
